I have been reaching for relaxed fit shift dresses in extra neutral colour palette this summer. These are easy to slip into, keeping me cool and effortlessly chic for lounging at home, or going to the beach.

This Summer, I found myself reaching for shift dresses. They are easy to slip into, comfortable, and effortless. I could easily hide my postpartum belly in them which is a bonus. I have also been gravitating towards extra neutral colours this season, such as ivory, cream, beige and light tan. Not only do these colours keep us cool in the heat, which is perfect for summer, they are timeless and do not compete with other colours, which makes them a great wardrobe staple.

I found the Bird and Kite’s Evalou dress ticks all these boxes. It’s made of the softest cotton, which feels luxuriously comfortable on the hot summer days we are currently in the midst of. I like the gathered and tiered feature, creating a voluminous billowy look which is flattering for all shapes. The balloon sleeves add a touch of romantic style to it. It instantly made me look effortless chic for a picnic at the beach and coffee catch-ups.
