Three Edgy Ways to Wear Tulle
Is it possible to wear tulle without looking like a ballerina-wannabe? Tulle has had its fashion makeover in the past years, and the tulle trend is here to stay. I'm sharing three edgy ways to wear tulle this season, inspired by Dior.
Traditionally used for bridal veil and dresses, and ballerina tutus, tulle is delicate and feminine. Its soft and semi-translucent quality makes tulle a dreamy fashion statement. However, it could swerve too bridal or ballerina for street wear. Inspired by Dior, I'm sharing three edgy ways to style midi tulle skirts. Lets get straight to it:
1. Comfy Sweater
For a feminine street style look, I love pairing my midi length tulle skirt with a comfy sweater. Nude and black are my go-to colours for tulle skirts, for a feminine appearance without looking like a full-on tutu. I also prefer a midi-length tulle skirt, rather than a shorter one for the same reason. In colder weather, I like to layer a black midi tulle skirt with tights underneath, and paired it with boots, white jumper on top, to look chic and keep warm.

2. Suit up
For her debut as Artistic Director at Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri transformed tulle from a traditional girly fabric to a rebellious yet romantic one. She combined midi length tulle skirts with suits and tees, one of them reading 'we should all be feminists'. Tulle was used a lot in her debut collection as she reflected what it means to be feminine in the today's society.
3. Belt It Out
Adding a thick chunky belt accentuates our waist and highlights the feminine silhouette, it can also provide structure and a touch of masculinity. It's a nice contrast to the feminine fabric.
