Affordable Winter Wedding Outfit
if you are attending a wedding during these cold months, here is some inspiration, styling and fashion tips to help you pick the right outfit.
It's almost Spring here in Melbourne! During the Winter-to-Spring transition period, Melbourne weather can still be cold, windy, and unpredictable, perhaps not quite warm enough for cocktail dresses yet. With various weddings' styles and strict dress codes, picking the right outfit for a wedding can be tricky.
I recently attended a friend's church wedding. When picking the outfit, the things I had in mind were: 1. I'd like the outfit to keep me warm without looking bulky. 2. Since the wedding was during the day and dress code was semi-formal, I wanted to stay away from dark colours. 3. I wanted to create a feminine look 4. I also wanted to create a new look with what was already in my wardrobe.
I picked a white satin top and a white mesh long sleeves top. We could easily match this timeless combo with jeans for a more casual occasion. For this wedding I matched it with a 'mermaid' skirt. It fitted around the hips and flared out at the bottom, to give a feminine silhouette. The velvet fabric of the skirt is quite thick, keeping me warm without the tights. I threw a faux fur scarf around my neck to add a bit of glam and extra warmth. Always remember that nothing screams confidence better than comfort.
I wore one of the most versatile and comfy white pumps to match the top. Lastly, I carried my phone and wallet in my pink Chloe Faye which was an impulse purchase sometime ago. Keep scrolling down to see some close-ups of the items and where I got them from.
As always, make sure to take note of the dress code in the invitation and respect it. Hope you enjoy this article. Let me know what you think of this post, and where you usually look for wedding outfits' inspiration.
